Some Delaware County Residents Still Without Power
Tuesday October 28, 2014 5am Delaware, Ohio – AEP Ohio website reports 2227 Delaware County residents still witout power.
Yesterday around 6:33 pm a down feed from First Energy to a Delaware, Ohio sub-station that accounted for a power power outage to over 18,000 customers in the City of Delaware and portions of Southwest Delaware County.
Jeff Renni, spokesperson for AEP, stated as of 9:00 pm power was restored to about 12,000 customers. At 9:30 pm AEP sent a Tweet out stating
“Restoration delayed due to complications. Crews checking equipment before they can safely re-energize.” With around 4000 customers still without power.
It is unknown when crews resumed work.
Through a series of Tweets, the Delaware County Emergency Management Agency (DelCoEMA) stated they are monitoring the situation for the County.
As a reminder to Twitter users all non-funtioning traffic lights should be treated as a four-way stop.
Additionally the DelCoEMA encourages anyone who is experiencing a life threatening emergency or property damage due to the power outage to call 911 immediately.
