Planned Sobriety Checkpoint Location Is Undisclosed
Delaware County, OHIO – Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies will be operating a sobriety checkpoint this weekend to deter and detect impaired drivers. Currently, the location of the checkpoint is undisclosed.
The International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Presidential Commission on Drunk Driving recommend the use of sobriety checkpoints to increase awareness of the risks taken while driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. It has been shown this increased risk of detection and apprehension is a deterrent to the impaired driver.
If motorists observe erratic driving, they are encouraged to safely call 9-1-1 and report the driving behavior witnessed. Thank you.
