Suspect Facing Multiple Charges After Robbing Home Depot


(Delaware County, OH)  January 22, 2015—The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Lewis Center Home Depot at 5:00 p.m. this evening when employees called to report a robbery that had just occurred. After pulling a gun on a clerk, the suspect fled the scene, then traveled south into Franklin County. He crashed his SUV on the eastbound ramp of 270 at I-71, limped to the nearby Worthington Industries parking lot, stole a truck, and crashed a second time before being taken into custody by officers with the Columbus Division of Police.


Justin Tucker, 31, of Columbus was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Following his release, he will be taken to the Delaware County Jail. He is facing multiple charges, including the first degree felony of aggravated robbery. Other charges will follow.

               According to deputies with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Tucker was caught due to community members working with law enforcement. Employees of Home Depot and Worthington Industries provided prompt, detailed, and accurate information to law enforcement, aiding in the search and capture of Tucker.

Suspect In Custody After Assaulting Juvenile at Highbanks

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office has a suspect in custody for the sexual assault of a juvenile female that occurred today around 12:30 pm at Highbanks Park in Lewis Center. According to Sheriff Russell Martin, “this incident is in no way related to the August 5th sexual assault of an 18-year-old male. Even though these two incidents would appear related due to proximity of time and location, based on several factors we are positive they are not connected.”

Sheriff Martin commends the alert Highbanks park ranger who observed suspicious activity, and immediately responded by detaining the suspect, assisting the victim, and notifying the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.

The 57-year-old suspect is in custody in the Delaware County Jail awaiting charges. The victim was taken to the hospital with no serious physical injuries reported.

The Sheriff’s Office stresses that these two assaults are isolated events, where today’s incident resulted in the immediate apprehension of the suspect. Investigation into the August 5th incident is still ongoing.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in the Tuesday, Aug. 5th, sexual assault of a male victim at Highbanks Metro Park in Lewis Center.

The suspect is described as a middle-aged male, 5’11” tall, weighing 170 pounds. He has
salt-and-pepper hair and a goatee with graying hair. The victim stated the suspect has a slight accent and is of Indian descent. He was wearing a white t-shirt with black vertical stripes and black running shorts when the incident occurred at 4:30 pm.

The suspect appears to be very familiar with this Park and its various trails.

Delaware’s Car Theft Suspect In Custody After Manhunt: Photos From The Scene

On August 4, Police Officers from the Delaware Police Department, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Patrol and Columbus Police, as well as members of the Delaware Fire Department, responded to pursue a suspect who fled from a stolen vehicle in the area of Curtis Street’s 400 block.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5’7” , 140 lbs., with short blond hair; he was believed to be barefoot and the city cautioned residents not to approach anyone matching his description.

At 6:15 p.m. it was reported he was in custody. DelawareO will provide more information as it becomes available.

Suspect in Huntington National Bank Robbery Caught

Delaware County, OH – February 18, 2014

Scott D. Thomas, 26, was arrested today on U.S. 23 in Delaware, after fleeing Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies. Thomas had a warrant for his arrest following the Saturday, Feb. 15 robbery of the Huntington National Bank in Lewis Center.

Thomas is believed to have been involved in several other recent robberies in the central Ohio area.

“Thanks to the public’s help and our detectives’ diligence, we were able to locate Thomas a little before noon today in the Delaware Wal-Mart parking lot in a stolen vehicle,” says Delaware County Sheriff Russell Martin. “Unfortunately Thomas and the driver of the vehicle failed to comply with our deputies’ attempts to pull them over, and a brief vehicle chase followed. Both gentleman received what we’ve been told are minor injuries, and fortunately no law enforcement officers or other citizens were injured.”

The other subject has been identified as 25-year-old John M. Thompson, III. Both men are currently being taken into custody at the Delaware County Jail where they will await arraignment on various charges, including robbery, receiving stolen property and failure to comply. In addition, Thompson also has a felony warrant out of Franklin County.

U.S. 23 north and southbound between Cheshire and Peachblow Roads was closed for two hours following this incident.

We can only assume he means suspected Huntington Bank robbery suspect Scott Delano Thomas has been arrested. U.S. 23 is closed with traffic being diverted to Peachbowl Road and Ohio Health Blvd.

“Scott D Thomas was arrested today shortly after noon in Delaware on U.S. 23, for his involvement in last Saturday’s robbery of the Lewis Center Huntington National Bank. He and another man fled from Sheriff’s deputies and were taken into custody following a short vehicle pursuit. They will be charged and held in the Delaware County Jail awaiting arraignment.”

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Help Identifying Bank Robbery Suspect



The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in the Saturday morning (Feb. 15) robbery of the Huntington National Bank at 8671 Owenfield Drive in Lewis Center. At 10:40 a.m. the bank was robbed by a white male, approximately 5’10” tall, and weighing 185 lbs. He was wearing a dark blue hoodie and dark grey jeans or possibly sweatpants.

The bank teller stated that the suspect is clean-shaven and possibly has acne scars on his cheeks. He wore black gloves and presented a note to the teller demanding money with no dye packs. He appeared unarmed. After receiving money, the suspect fled to the Chipotle business next door where he was observed entering the right rear passenger side of a late 1990’s/early 2000’s white, four-door Honda Accord. The direction of travel of the suspect vehicle is unknown.

The teller was not physically harmed.
