Local inventor and founder of Whiteside Manufacturing in Delaware passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 following a two week illness at the age of 87.

76, of Delaware passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning September 22, 2015 at the Arbors of Delaware.

He was born September 23, 1938 in Tarlton, Ohio to the late Charles Hatfield Strupper and Jean (Walls) Strupper-Chambers.

On January 2, 1971 he married Ruth (McCloud) Strupper who survives.

Eugene worked as a custodian for Ohio Wesleyan University for 35 years and as a stockman for Buehler’s for 25 years and he was also a member of the K of P Lodge of Delaware. He loved playing card games especially euchre, working crossword puzzles and his dogs.

In addition to his wife Ruth, he is survived by a daughter Jody (Hank) Nichols of Delaware and two grandsons Jordan and Henry. He was preceded in death by his two brothers William Charles Strupper and Guy Strupper and his three sisters Buelah Mae Smith, Rosa Lee Martin and Pam Kraus.

The family will receive friends onFriday September 25, 2015 from 4 –7 pm at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware. Celebration of life services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Donnie Akers officiating.

Contributions in Eugene’s memory may be made to the Delaware County Humane Society, 4920 State Route 37 East, Delaware, Ohio 43015.
