Starting in the 1950s, Orange Township land was coveted by developers and needed by state and federal agencies.  Land was acquired for a Columbus Metro Park, U.S. Rt. 71, Alum Creek Dam, and the Polaris shopping mecca.  Long gone farms, villages and stories of settlers give glimpses of the early days while two hundred years later, residential growth is soaring and parks and services are being developed to keep up with the changes.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Help Identifying Bank Robbery Suspect



The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in the Saturday morning (Feb. 15) robbery of the Huntington National Bank at 8671 Owenfield Drive in Lewis Center. At 10:40 a.m. the bank was robbed by a white male, approximately 5’10” tall, and weighing 185 lbs. He was wearing a dark blue hoodie and dark grey jeans or possibly sweatpants.

The bank teller stated that the suspect is clean-shaven and possibly has acne scars on his cheeks. He wore black gloves and presented a note to the teller demanding money with no dye packs. He appeared unarmed. After receiving money, the suspect fled to the Chipotle business next door where he was observed entering the right rear passenger side of a late 1990’s/early 2000’s white, four-door Honda Accord. The direction of travel of the suspect vehicle is unknown.

The teller was not physically harmed.
