Suspect Who Was Found Alone With Minor In Highbanks Metro Park Indicted.

Photo Delaware County Prosecutors Office.

Scott W. Spencer is in jail today after a Delaware County Grand Jury returned 2-count indictment against the 57-year-old Columbus man for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

Charges come as a result of a call to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office on August 15, 2014. A Park ranger made the call after finding Spencer alone with a juvenile female.

“The victim in this case met Spencer online,” said Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien. “Parents need to be vigilant in their efforts to find out what their children are doing online and who they may be corresponding with.”

Spencer is charged with 2 counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor – both third-degree felonies.

Arraignment is not yet set.
