DELAWARE, Ohio — Delaware County is under a severe thunderstorm watch, as the National Weather Service says there is an ‘enhanced’ risk of severe weather in much of the area.
The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 8 p.m. for much of Ohio.

According to the Wilmington forecast office, a moist and unstable airmass will interact with an approaching cold front to bring showers and thunderstorms to the region today and tonight. Some thunderstorms may be strong to severe. In addition, gusty winds between 35 and 45 mph will be possible outside of precipitation.

The National Weather Service says damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes are the main concerns with these storms.
