ORANGE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A driver was killed early Saturday morning in a crash along U.S. 23 in Delaware County.
It happened on 23 near Olentangy Meadows Drive around 12:21 a.m.
According to the Delaware Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia
was traveling northbound on 23 when a southbound 2006 Chevrolet Equinox crossed the center line, striking the truck.
The driver of the Equinox was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
The truck driver was not injured.
The highway patrol has not released the identity of the Equinox driver, pending notification of family.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Delaware County Sheriff’s
Office and the Orange Township Fire Department. The crash remains under investigation.
US 23 was closed for several hours following the crash, and has since been re-opened.
