Around 5:30 p.m. in the afternoon, Delaware County Sheriff Deputy Thorington was dispatched to a report of a blocked road and traffic jam. The limousine, registered to Omega Limousine, LLC, had blocked traffic from both directions for over 20 minutes, with no way to get around.

Deputy Thorington approached the driver of the 2000 white Lincoln and asked, “how did we get in this situation?” The driver explained that she was trying to turn around and didn’t realize she didn’t have enough turn space. Another unidentified woman stated that they had attempted to push the limousine back onto the road.

Body worn camera video shows the rear tires of the limo hanging off the embankment with the chassis resting on the road. The driver stated that she was waiting for AAA to dispatch a driver to help her out, but the deputy informed her they couldn’t wait that long and that he would have to call a truck.

Fortunately, two good Samaritans in a Lizard Skinz truck arrived and offered to assist pulling the limo off the road. They were able to pull the limousine back onto the road with chains they had on hand. The limousine driver then crossed the road and turned around in an open field, according to the video.

Despite the ordeal, the limousine driver did not receive any citations.
