DELAWARE, Ohio — Seven people were taken into custody early Tuesday morning during a pursuit in Delaware.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Section released video of portions of the chase.
A state patrol aircraft was tracking a stolen car as it traveled south on State Route 203 as it passed Byers Road. The pursuit continued until stop sticks were used to stop the vehicle along the 500 block of West Central Avenue.
Aerial video shows seven people getting out of the vehicle and running away.
The first suspect was caught at the Georgetown Apartments. Aerial video shows someone jumping a fence outside an apartment along Georgetown Circle. The aviation crew directed officers right to the suspect, and police got him at 2:38 a.m.
Three more waited along the railroad tracks, waiting for a train to go by. Once it was all clear, they went east over tracks toward the Hayes High School tennis courts. They were Taken into custody at 2:51 a.m.
A short time later, the the aircraft crew used its infrared camera to see an abnormal amount of heat coming from under a pickup truck parked on Northwood Drive. The remaining three suspects were found under truck at 3:03 a.m.
The highway patrol says the car was initially reported stolen from a nearby hotel.
Police have not said what charges the suspects are facing.
