DELAWARE, Ohio — Utility relocation work for the construction project at ‘The Point’ is slated to begin Monday, April 10.
According to the city, this work will include relocating utility poles along with electric and fiber-optic utilities. The first portion of the work is expected to mainly take place along the side of the road without traffic impact.
The overall goal of the project is to widen U.S. 36/S.R. 37 under the railroad bridge, reconstruct the Norfolk-Southern railroad bridge, and improve the 36/37 intersection at State Route 521. When complete, there will be five travel lanes below the bridge structure. There will also be new pedestrian and bicycle paths and safe road crossings.
So far, trees have been cleared from the construction area.
Construction on the project will be ongoing, with an estimated end date of September, 2025.
