DELAWARE, Ohio — Mingo Park is a 50-acre public park located on East Lincoln Avenue near downtown Delaware. The park has playgrounds, a walking trail, a skate park, tennis courts, baseball fields and soccer fields. It is also home to the city’s indoor recreation center and public pool.
Location
Mingo Park can be accessed from East Lincoln Avenue, which is a block north of the downtown Delaware area. East Lincoln Avenue dead-ends into the park after crossing under U.S. 23. The highway forms the western border of the park, with a bend in the Olentangy River surrounding it to the east, north and south.

Playground
Mingo Park features a large playground for older kids and a small playground for younger children. There are also swings for all age groups.
The park was long-known for its giant stainless steel slide (you know, the kind that burns you when the sun is shining). That slide was recently replaced by one of the large yellow plastic variety.
If you’re coming for the playground, turn right as you enter the park and follow the road around to the back portion of the park. There’s a small parking lot at the end of the road with easy access to the playground.
Sports fields and tennis courts
Mingo Park has six baseball/softball diamonds and room for more than a dozen multi-use fields. Parking for the sports fields can be accessed by turning left as you enter the park.
Four tennis courts are located near the playground.
A 1.1 mile walking path surrounds the park.

Jack Florance Pool
The city’s public pool, Jack Florance Pool, is located at the southern end of the park. The pool opens for the season each year during Memorial Day weekend.
Pool hours for the 2023 season:
- Monday-Friday 6 – 7 am (Morning Lap Swim)

Admission to the pool is $7 for Delaware residents and $12 for non-residents. Memberships are available, starting at $115 for and adult and $275 for a family of five.
