DELAWARE, Ohio — The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is letting folks know that Senior Tag season has begun.
Senior Tag is a competitive game played by high school students as the school year comes to an end. Teens use squirt guns or Nerf blasters to tag each other, with the last one standing declared the winner. The game is organized by students, not the school districts.
The sheriff’s office says that the game sometimes gets out of hand, resulting in illegal activity, such as trespassing, public nudity and reckless driving.
According to the sheriff’s office, students should not play the game from a vehicle, and they should avoid using water pistols or Nerf guns that could be mistaken for an actual weapon.
If residents see suspicious behavior, the sheriff’s office asks that they not assume it is students playing Senior Tag. Call the sheriff’s office or local police.
