DELAWARE, Ohio — The Short North District in Columbus is widely known as a destination for arts, restaurants and night life. However, after two violent weekends, you might be looking for some alternatives that don’t take you into a lawless thunderdome of gun violence.

1808 American Bistro

1808 American Bistro is located at 29 E Winter St, in the heart of downtown Delaware. This upscale restaurant features innovative and modern bistro cuisine, a large craft beer selection, craft cocktails, and an amazing atmosphere.

Nocterra Brewing Co.
Powell is home to Nocterra Brewing Co.’s brewery and taproom. Located at 41 Depot St., Nocterra is a great place to come and have a pint or two. Ray Ray’s Hog Pit has a presence in Noctera’s beer garden, along with a rotating assortment of other food trucks.
The Strand
Located at 28 E. Winter St., The Strand Theatre is a landmark in downtown Delaware. Operating since 1916, he Strand is one of the few remaining independent movie theaters in the country showing first-run films.

Gallery 22
Located right next to The Strand, Gallery 22 hosts a revolving schedule of gallery shows. It’s also home to Gallery Shop @ 22 which offers a curated collection of fine art and contemporary craft-from jewelry to paintings, cards to ceramics, glass to wood.
The gallery is run by the Arts Castle (Delaware County Cultural Arts Center).
Ross Art Museum
The Ross Art Museum at 60 S. Sandusky Street is home to a permanent collection of more than 2,500 works by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Frank Stella, and Alfred Stieglitz. Exhibitions feature works from artists around the world.
District 13 Gastropub
District 13 describes itself as a gastropub with unique comfort foods & large portion sizes. Located at 45 E Granville St. in Sunbury, District 13 is right on the town square, putting visitors in walking distance of all that Sunbury has to offer.
Toni’s Trattoria
Located at 19 W Columbus St. in Galena, Toni’s Trattoria is a brand new restaurant serving Italian staples.

Powell Village Winery
Powell VIllage Winery features wines made in central Ohio with grapes grown in some of the finest Central Coast and Central Valley California vineyards. Located at 50 S. Liberty Street, Suite 174 in Powell, the winery’s tasting room is open Tuesday-Saturday for you to stop in and try one of the many wines on tap.
The Oak & Brazen Wine Co.
The Oak & Brazen Wine Co., 38 E. Winter St. in Delaware is home to an assortment of local wine, beer, and light food. The winery’s tasting room is also available for special events.
