DELAWARE, Ohio – As summer heats up in Ohio, Delaware County officials are working diligently to help ensure the comfort and safety of vulnerable populations. In response to the increasing need for cooling in homes without air conditioning, the Delaware County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management has launched a box fan donation drive, inviting residents to contribute new fans to help their neighbors beat the heat.
To streamline the process, the county has established multiple drop-off locations where residents can donate. The designated locations include all Delaware County EMS Stations (1 through 10) and most branches of the Delaware County District Library, except the Powell location.

The box fan donation drive aims to support at-risk residents including the elderly, people with medical conditions, and those without the means to purchase cooling systems for their homes. Scott Stewart from the Delaware County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management encourages residents to participate in this community effort, stressing the importance of looking after the vulnerable members of the society.
For more information on donating a new box fan, you can contact Scott Stewart at (740) 833-2180. Community members are reminded that donations should be new fans to ensure they meet safety standards. With a community working hand in hand, Delaware County is striving to provide comfort and relief during the sweltering summer months.
