Orange Township in Delaware County, Ohio, has announced the closure of Bale Kenyon Road from June 12, 2023, to August 26, 2023, due to road widening. This closure will affect the stretch between Orange Road and Kendall Lane. The road closure is necessary to facilitate the widening and reconstruction of Bale Kenyon Road, a project estimated at $2.7 million.
The funding for this initiative includes $2.2 million from Orange Township, with an additional $500,000 contributed by the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) and Delaware County Transportation Improvement District (TID). The project aims to improve the road infrastructure by widening and reconstructing Bale Kenyon Road, including the installation of new curbs, gutters, a shared-use path, and drainage improvements. These enhancements will enhance safety and convenience for both motorists and pedestrians.
During the construction period, Bale Kenyon Road will be fully closed to through traffic for approximately three months. However, access to residences within the work zone will be maintained. Detour routes have been established to minimize inconvenience for commuters and redirect traffic efficiently.
