As a lifelong Delaware, Ohio resident, Delco Pizza has been a personal favorite of mine!
For as long as I can remember, my earliest memories (other than ordering a Delco Pizza) include watching the local TV commercial featuring their mascot “Yorgi” the Viking exclaiming “mmmmmm PIZZA, BEER!” I even did a stent there as a delivery driver for them during my younger days.
My allegiance to Delco was put to the test when I decided to branch out from my usual pepperoni, sausage, and onion pizza and try something new: a small pepperoni, sausage, bacon, ham, and pineapple pizza.

Now, I know there’s a philosophical debate on whether pineapple belongs on pizza, but let me tell you, I firmly believe that pineapple does indeed belong on pizza! And if you wish to disagree with me, go ahead, because you can be wrong.
So, I placed my order at Delco, confidently requesting a pizza with pepperoni, sausage, bacon, ham, and the ever-tasty pineapple. The moment I said pineapple, my order taker lamented “you lost me at pineapple,” firmly objecting to my pineapple choice. While having this intellectual debate regarding this tropical delight, I asked the question what else could I put on there? To which the order take a replied “salami.” I exclaimed “excellent choice,” and the salami made it on to the order. The real test was yet to come.
As I picked up my pizza, I could already smell the delicious aroma wafting from the box as I drove back to COhatch to work on this review. Sitting on the couch, I opened it up and was met with a beautiful sight: a perfectly crispy crust, loaded with toppings and a generous amount of pineapple. Let me tell you, Delco DID NOT SKIMP, the toppings were loaded!

The moment of truth had arrived, it was time to indulge into my culinary delight.
Now for all those who have have had a Delco pizza before, I don’t know about you but it is customary in my family to eat the the four triangle pieces found after cutting the circle shape pizza into squares first. My daughter will fight me to the death for these pieces.
Now back to eating the pizza, let me tell you, it was mighty fine and delicious! The salami was an excellent choice, adding a nice touch of salty flavor to the pie with the pepperoni, ham, and bacon. Include biting into the juicy chunks of pineapple, this put me into a true euphoric state. Especially since I’ve been having a bad few days. This was the perfect pick me up.
Now, I paired my pizza with a bottle of Diet Mountian Dew (everyone has a vice, this is mine!). I once was a regular Mountain Dew drinker, however after switching to diet Dew for health-related reasons, the regular stuff is just way too sweet for me anymore. And still, it washed down this pizza just fine.
Delco may not have a restaurant seeing that they are a drive-thru, but they make up for it with their delicious subs, salads, and spaghetti. When I’m feeling like a sub sandwich, the meatball sub is usually my go-to where I have them add onion and tomato, with their Italian sub being my second favorite. More often than not I’ll order two Italian subs to have one to pack in my lunch the next day.

After visiting their website, I’m excited to see that they are advertising they have brought back bone-in wings for $15.95 per order which includes a veggie pack homemade ranch dip and a cookie. Another one of my favorites when I’m not eating the pie.
For my daughter and I, Delco Pizza is on the approved list for our pizza Friday nights daddy daughter dates.
Delco is located at 523 Pennsylvania Avenue and open from 3pm to 10pm Sunday – Thursday, and 3pm to 11pm on Friday – Saturday.
I truly can never go wrong with their pie, and I highly recommend giving it a try. Check out their website https://www.delcopizza.com/ for their full menu items, and a picture of ,”Yorgi.”
So let’s have it Delaware, let’s get into the conversation here, you all agree with me that pineapple belongs on pizza correct?
