DELAWARE, Ohio – Main Street Delaware is excited to announce a new theme for its First Friday event on February 4, 2023: Presidential Scavenger Hunt! The event is modeled after the popular “Where’s Waldo” event that Beanbag Books puts on each July, but with a unique twist.

The Delaware Welcome Center

Participating businesses will be given a small wooden cut-out of Rutherford B. Hayes to hide in their store. Visitors will then go store to store searching for the cut-outs and getting them signed off on their passport or stamped at each location they find one. The scavenger hunt will kick off on February First Friday and continue through the end of the month.

To enter for a chance to win prizes, completed passports can be turned in at the Delaware Welcome Center, located at 20 East William Street in Delaware.

“I think it will be cool to search for President Hayes all over town,” said Sean Hughes, the city of Delaware’s economic development director. “Of course we all know where the giant President Hayes is there on the corner, but I don’t think that’s in play.”

This fun and interactive event is a great way to explore downtown Delaware and discover new businesses while learning a little bit of history.

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to participate in the Presidential Scavenger Hunt and win prizes!
