DELWARE, Ohio – Just a little over a week ago on June, 17 2023 in Mansfield, Ohio, Madison Miller (Former Miss North Coast), a 23-year-old college graduate from Ohio Wesleyan University, and local entrepreneur, was crowned Miss Ohio, captivating the hearts of the judges and audience with her inspiring journey and unwavering determination. One more step to fulfilling a dream she had been tirelessly pursuing. Interestingly, with her crowning achievement, Miller aims to inspire others to embrace their unique paths and make a positive impact in their communities.
One thing you notice immediately about Miller is she is a remarkably genuine individual, it was evident from our initial interaction that her warmth and authenticity set her apart. Even while I was setting up the interview room at COhatch, she helped move furniture around while donned in her stunning tiara, gown, and heels. Exemplifying the grace and poise that earlier enamored the Miss Ohio judges. Even as we wrapped up our interview, Miller was delightfully teaching me how to “tea cup pose” with her. Something I NEVER imagined I would do.
As the interview began, Miller expressed her elation at the opportunity to represent Ohio as Miss Ohio, a dream she has pursued for the past four to five years. “It’s surreal. This is something I’ve worked towards for a long time,” she shared with enthusiasm. “To finally be able to say that I am Miss Ohio is an exhilarating feeling.”

With in moments of hearing her name, Miller’s first thoughts were about her family and the help they had in making this moment happen. “Even in the video, you can see after I was crowned, I found my mom in the audience. You can see me mouthing ‘mom, we did it.'”
Miller’s transformation from a student trying to find her way in life, to a beacon of inspiration has been nothing short of remarkable. Reflecting on her initial aspirations, she admitted, “I was overinvolved, and I was way too focused on quantity over quality.” However, her encounter with the Miss America organization changed everything, emphasizing the importance of quality and intentional impact.

The journey began for Miller when she was inspired by Miss Ohio 2018, Matti-Lynn Chrisman, who left a lasting impression with her vibrant red hair, bright eyes, and unwavering dedication to making a meaningful impact. Struck by the connection she felt with Miss Chrisman, especially coming from a small town herself, Milker delved into a Google search on how to become Miss Ohio while sitting in a bowling alley. Little did she know that this search would shape her path and ignite her passion.
Finding her way to the Miss Ohio Scholarship Program, Miller discovered the unique opportunities it offered. Not only did she resonate with the program’s emphasis on community service and making a difference, but she also recognized the value of the scholarship dollars awarded by the Miss America organization. Over the past three years, Miller has accumulated over $20,000 in scholarships, significantly alleviating her student debt.

Madison’s commitment to veterans extends to her own nonprofit,
Impressively, Miller has established her own nonprofit organization, “The Veteran Narrative.” The organization aims to create empowering conversations where veterans can share their stories and experiences, ultimately fostering a better understanding and appreciation for their service.

With excitement in her voice, Miller describes winning Miss America as a dream come true, stating, “It would mean everything, but I think it would continue to inspire the girls in the community who are just in my shoes, who are looking and might not be able to see themselves making an impact in the world.” She acknowledges the importance of representation and the impact it can have on others, just as she was inspired by someone who paved the way for her.
But Miller’s drive doesn’t stop there. She explains that even before potentially winning the national title, she is already making a difference. She shares, “We’re already doing that. I’m already connected to veterans all across the country. We’re getting in contact to share their stories. I’ve connected with title holders all across the country and already pursuing collaborations to take our each individual platforms and uplift them.”
